If I had to guess, it would probably be because of all the innocent souls I had devoured. I thought it was a necessary sacrifice for the greater good, but I can see how others might disagree.

I did need a break. It was extended when I was murdered.

When any living thing dies, a soul is left over. They're powerful things if you know how to use them. Death has his Weapons devour the souls of evil humans who have turned into kishin. Powerful enough, but narrow-minded. A kishin is formed when too many innocent souls have been devoured.

I was hoping to create a powerful kishin that I could control. Unfortunately my poor child wasn't up to the task.

My intention was to kill Death, and spread the kishin's madness throughout the world. In order to... jump-start evolution, if you will. Under Death's strict rule, the world had simply stopped changing. It was stagnating. [ So really she was trying to do the world a favor, see? ]
