[ Video ]
[ Medusa appears on screen wearing what can be described most kindly as a ’jaunty’ sweater and a cheerful little Santa hat. Her smile, for those who are familiar with her usual expression, is both incredibly wide and incredibly genuine. She’s got it, and she’s got it bad. ] It occurs to me quite suddenly – quite suspiciously suddenly, in fact – that there aren’t nearly enough decorations up. The mistletoe is a nice touch, but it needs more. We need wreaths, and lights, and- are there any menorahs up? We wouldn’t want anyone to feel left out. “Christmas” is intended to be a Christian holiday, obviously, but its roots lie in the change of the seasons which makes it a time of celebration for most religions. [ Yes, she managed to fit a small lesson into this. But as a witch she mostly serves as an observer for your cooky human holiday season. ]
Now, mistletoe and trees are pagan. Perhaps if we put up a few angels for the Christians, at least one public menorah and perhaps a few Stars of David for our Jewish neighbors? Let’s see, what other holidays do humans celebrate around the solstice? Well, you’ll all have to help me out if I’m forgetting anything. Of course there should be a feast, you can’t possibly celebrate the coming light of spring without a feast. And if anyone would like company to stay up on the longest night of the year and help the mother Goddess give birth to the sun, I would be more than happy to join you.
[ She smiles again, in something like a farewell. Then something occurs to her, and she holds up a finger to ask you to wait while with her other hand she picks up the head end of her enormous viper so that he can look at the screen.
If snakes can have expressions, he looks curious and mildly confused. He eyes the thing and flicks his tongue out at it experimentally as Medusa goes on. ]
Oh, one last thing. Does anyone have a very small hat like the one I’m wearing ? Poor Ophion has nothing to wear.
[ Private Text to the Admiral - Gifts for Red, Arthas, Barron, Lua, and a general gift for all ]
Dearest Admiral, this holiday season I would like to have gifts sent to my fellow barge residents. That I am compelled to write this to you suggest to me that you are likely to concede.
I would like for everyone to receive their favorite dessert from home. If they have none, and they are not allergic, peppermint barge should be given instead.
For Lua, something to wear in her hair. A pink flower pin, perhaps. It would look good on her.
For Barron I would like a book on home repairs. I'm sure he'll appreciate the reference.
For Arthas, a nice heavy coat should warm that icy heart.
And of course, for Red. I would like her to receive two copies of the complete Fairy Tales of the Brother's Grimm; one classic version, and one illustrated for children.
Thank you, Admiral.
Sincerely yours,
Medusa Gorgon

Oh, and he knew this was a flood. The moment it wore off he was going to break someone's head.]
Hello?
action!
[ Medusa is well aware that this is a flood, but at this stage in the game she can make use of it. The desire to decorate is very real to her, but she never stops thinking ahead even during a flood. She stands in front of a table with various bits of fabric and other sewing supplies, Ophion curled sleepily in the corner. A floppy little Santa hat shouldn't be too hard. ]
What would you like to start with?
action!
[Arthas looked a little lost with all of the... bits of things.]
Anything you need help with. I'm not very creative.
action!
[ She grabs a piece of paper and a pencil and draws the shape for him. ]
The preferred colors are blue and white.
action!
How large?
action!
It doesn't matter. You can make several, if you like, of different sizes.
action - this is the part where i'm glad holy symbols don't hurt dks :T
[Arthas gets working on cutting out stars. The first few come out lopsided because he doesn't draw the pattern beforehand.]
How are you going to get that hat to stay on the snake?
action - tmw the holiday spirit LITERALLY BURNS :D
action
[This is so dry it's hard to tell if he's being serious or sarcastic.]

video;
[Ariadne is affected; also, she's so used to Rex's snake thing that another one doesn't even set her back.]
video;
Oh goodness, what a clever idea. I've lived for centuries but do you know I've never made a hat like this before? It should be a very interesting experience!
Do you have any of those little bells?
video;
As far as I'm concerned, it's never too late to try something new, to try to make something, create something. In fact, now is the perfect time. What better way to get into the spirit of the season?
video;
video;
Maybe I can make some for Rex, too. If I can find a pattern that works.
